Traditional Guidelines:

  • Timing: 6th month for boys, 5th or 7th month for girls (can vary by region)
  • Auspicious Nakshatras: Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Revati
  • Good Weekdays: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Avoid: Rikta Tithis, Amavasya, Krishna Paksha Ashtami onwards
